Looking back into the archives to one of our favourite projects of the past few years… In 2020, we worked with Space Popular to fabricate a 1:30 architectural model for their solo show ‘Freestyle’ at RIBA, London.
Check out the video below to see how the many parts came together to create a city landscape in the centre of the exhibition.
Stacking plinths for Gina Shoes at Selfridges
Earlier this month we were asked by Gina Shoes to create a series of stackable plinths for a brand pop-up within London’s Selfridges. Working with the shoe-makers at Gina, the plinths were coated in luxury Italian leather and offset with complimentary block colour finishes to showcase the luxury detailing within the latest Gina collections.
Always a pleasure to work with this brand, creating something timeless and chic for their first position at Selfridges.
Giant replica boot for Naked Wolfe
We recently had the pleasure of creating a giant replica ‘Spice’ boot for the shoe brand Naked Wolfe.
Standing at 3m tall, the sculpture was first CAD designed, before being CNC craved from recycled polystyrene and finished in faux leather with hand stitched detailing. 3D printed logos finished off the look.
Installed in the pink room of their new flagship on Bond Street, we think the boot makes quite an impression and a perfect instagram moment for the brand!
LUV sculpture for artist LY
Last night was the opening party for artist LY’s London pop up Living with LUV on Brick Lane. We had the pleasure of creating a larger than life version of LY’s amorphous main character, LUV, who populates the artist’s paintings and sculptures within the show.
CNC carved and coated with plaster, with a satin paint finish, the 2m tall LUV sat upon a custom made plinth in the centre of the exhibition space.
He creates quite a welcome we think!
If you are in the area, the show is on at 91 Brick Lane till Sunday with free admission.
Friday 16 June · 10:00–19:00
Saturday 17 June · 10:00–19:00
Sunday 18 June · 10:00–19:00
Southbank Centre x Murugiah collab
We recently had the pleasure to work with artist and illustrator Murugiah, to fabricate his latest commission Compassion, for the Southbank Centre.
As part of the centre’s Refugee Week, and created in collaboration with a group of young asylum seekers from Compass Collective, the piece is inspired by the artwork of young pupils across the UK featuring messages of welcome for refugees and those seeking asylum around the world.
As a fabrication partner, we worked with Murugiah, taking his initial illustration design, and transforming it into largescale printed cutouts that inhabit one of the window spaces at the Southbank Centre.
It was a joy to take his bold and colourful characters, and bring them to life in 3D.
The installation is now open, go down to the Southbank and take a look!
Bespoke Artworks for Marriott Hotels, in partnership with Artiq
Recently art consultants Artiq came to us with this great brief to make a series of bespoke artworks for regional Marriott hotels across the country. Each artwork features layered prints showcasing the local geography unique to each hotel, encased in acrylic and wall mounted. With x20 pieces to create, this was a job with a very satisfying production line!
Essay by Chat gpt on the importance of the art fabricator...
An art fabricator, also known as an art production or fabrication company, plays a crucial role in the creation and realization of artworks. The importance of an art fabricator can be seen in several aspects of the art world:
Technical expertise: Art fabricators are highly skilled professionals who possess technical expertise in various art-making techniques such as sculpture, painting, and installation. They work closely with artists, designers, and curators to ensure that the artwork is created to the highest standards.
Materials knowledge: Art fabricators have a deep understanding of the properties of different materials and how they can be used to achieve specific artistic effects. They can source, select, and prepare materials to ensure that they meet the specific needs of each artwork.
Precision and attention to detail: Art fabrication requires a high degree of precision and attention to detail. Art fabricators have the tools and expertise to create complex and intricate artworks that require a great deal of care and skill.
Project management: Art fabrication companies are often involved in the planning and execution of large-scale art projects. They can manage multiple aspects of the project, including budgeting, scheduling, and logistics.
Preservation and conservation: Art fabricators play a critical role in the preservation and conservation of artworks. They have the knowledge and expertise to ensure that artworks are properly cared for and maintained over time.
In short, the importance of an art fabricator lies in their ability to bring artworks to life through technical expertise, materials knowledge, precision, and attention to detail. They are essential partners for artists, designers, and curators in the creation and preservation of artworks.
Lore Group x Make-It art piece for Eden House

Exhibition props for Engage Works
We recently worked with Engage Works to cad design and fabricate a series of playful architectural models and nine props for collaboration with Abu Dhabi Childhood Authority. The models and props are to be used to exhibit collected data on underprivileged children in order to change government policies.
We kept the elements simple and colourful, using Valchromat wood in various colours to compliment the branding and environment. A great project to make!
Happy hump day
Sending some mid-week motivation via workshop hero, Toad. Always representing.
Giant christmas bow for Victoria Beckham Mayfair store
One of our favourite little projects over the festive period was this giant bow fabrication we created for Victoria Beckham.
Custom printed and heat formed, the bow wrapped up the Dover Street store, adding an on-brand festive touch for the month of December.

Art fabrication with artist Adé Bolaji
Rounding off 2022, we once again had the pleasure of assisting artist Adé Bolaji turn his painted characters into fabricated sculptural forms. For his latest piece which was exhibited at the “Bitter Nostalgia” show at the Saatchi Gallery, we worked closely with Adé to source upcycled materials to bring an initial sketch to life in 3d form.
It’s always a pleasure to work with Adé, his work epitomising our belief that beautiful and unique forms can be made from previously used and discarded materials :)
For more of Adé Bolaji’s sculptural work, please check out our other collaborations with him here, and if you require any assitance with any art fabrication project, please get in touch!

Mild Steel Plinths to showcase Artist's work

We were delighted to be asked to create the metal plinths to showcase work from artists Hannah Quinlan and Rosie Hastings for their solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Osnabrück museum in Germany.
Working across film, painting, drawing and performance, the artists address the socio-cultural and political structures that reinforce conservatism and discriminatory practices within and around the LGBTQ+ community.
The exhibition combines a multi-channel sound work with fifteen found dollhouses representing various domestic architectural styles. Sourced in the UK, the houses date from the late 19th century to the present day. Inside represents the artists’ investigation into the relationship between architecture and identity construction, particularly the bourgeois house as a symbol of gendered behaviour, political power and civic duty.
Speakers placed in each dollhouse emit a cacophony of sound, at times acting in unison and at times alone; exploring the full physical and psychological potential of the home as a generator of infinite social relations.
Farer Watch display stands
We were recently asked to produce some watch display stands for the independent British watch company Farer. These included sumptuous dark blue suede fabric covered stands in which to showcase watches fully laid out and invisible watch stands that can be grouped together in the showroom.
Gina Driftwood Window Display
We created a whimsical Summer window for Gina Shoes on Sloane Street with sloping driftwood branches decorating a shoreline. A beautiful palette of turquoise blues and white of the lull of crashing waves showcasing Gina shoes floating effortlessly against the salty breeze.
To create this we stopped by Woodenzone Studio ‘out in the sticks’. The UK’s premier stockist of Natural Driftwood. They also made Gandolfs wizard staff!
