“A RESILIENT MONUMENT” COIR FIBRE SCULPTURE

We created this strange but fascinating creature for the architectural design company THISS in preparation for their Korea show at the Seoul Biennale. Because the sculpture is constructed of sustainable Valchromat wood and Coir Fibres (from coconut), it pays tribute to the impermanent and organic, which can rot and decay while still appearing when it is needed.

This new way of thinking about structures and cultural resilience opens up new possibilities.
