A recent sculpture we fabricated, titled 'Girl with Oar' was originally made in the 1930's by a Russian sculptor Ivan Shadr, in Gorky Park, Moscow. it is a typical example of the socialist Realism sculpture made for the soviet union propaganda, symbolising the vitality and strength of the motherland. and fairly random we have recreated it in the UK, nearly a century later :) We made this sculpture by making a digital file from photos, cnc milled the form, made matrix moulds , constructed a mild steel internal armature and cast in jesmonite ac730. #artoftheday #jesmonite @jesmonite_ltd #artfabrication #art #sculpture #creativeservices #make #makeit #makeitlondon #thamessidestudios
